I write about my life in Atlanta, world events, politics, creative arts and anything I find interesting. My goals are to share knowledge and joy. Sometimes knowledge is joyful. Sometimes it isn’t. Oh, well.

About me

I wrote, photographed and illustrated two columns for Creative Loafing back when it was one of the country’s highest-circulation weekly newspapers. Scene & Herd was a wry, ironic review of metro Atlanta arts and entertainment. Don’t Panic: Your War Questions Answered was a nationally syndicated weekly news and humor column about U.S. foreign policy and foreign affairs.

In 2011 I co-authored Americapedia: Taking the Dumb Out of Freedom with Jodi Lynn Anderson and Daniel Ehrenhaft, a critically acclaimed history, civics and current events book for young adults. The New York Times called it "Jon Stewart's "America" for the Y.A. set." Publishers Weekly says it delivered "Historical and cultural literacy delivered with a subversive twist." Booklist called it a “Sassy compendium” which is a beautiful combination of words. I illustrated a lot of the sassy compendium. Badly, but still.

Since 2010 I’ve been a communications and marketing consultant, directing digital engagement for CARE, communications for Emory Global Health Institute, and several non-profits and political campaigns.
